Knot Wars pits fishing knots in a head-to-head battle to determine which knot you can count on in a fight. Each week, we tie and test two of the world's strongest knots. The winner advances to the next round; the loser goes home.

All Knot Wars bouts are conducted with 14-pound Berkley Trilene XT Tough Red monofilament, 15-pound test Berkley FireLine Tracer Braid and 15-pound Berkley Trilene 100-Percent Flourocarbon.Each knot is tied and tested at least 12 times with each line.

We eliminate the lowest and highest test scores and average the remaining results. The weekly winner is the knot with the highest average for all three lines.
